This study aims to explain the direction and content system of the revised Korean Geography, which is ‘Korean Geography: An Inquiry Approach’ in accordance with the 2022 revised curriculum. Korean Geography: An Inquiry Approach was designed to focus on issues and problems, inquiry-based learning, and career development and real-life experiences. Korean Geography: An Inquiry Approach consists of a total of 5 units and 15 achievement standards, which is reduced by about 46% compared to the current Korean Geography. Korean Geography: An Inquiry Approach is characterized by inquiry using spatial data and geographical fieldwork. Based on the geographical inquiry skills acquired through unit 1, students study the relationship between oneself and other regions through the consumption of products in daily life (unit 2), problems faced by different parts in the context of concentration in the metropolitan area and local extinction (unit 3), environmental changes due to development and natural disasters (Unit 4), and geopolitical issues on the Korean Peninsula and surrounding areas (Unit 5).
본 연구의 목표는 2022 개정 교육과정에 따라 개정된 한국지리 탐구의 방향과 내용체계를 설명하는 것이다. 2022 개정 교육과정에 따른 한국지리 탐구는 쟁점과 이슈에 초점을 두고, 지리탐구를 강조하며, 진로와 실생활 경험을 강조하는 방향으로 개정되었다. 한국지리 탐구는 총 5개 대단원 및 15개의 성취기준으로 구성되었으며, 이는 2015 개정 교육과정의 한국지리에 비해 약 46% 정도 축소된 수준이다. 한국지리 탐구에서는 공간정보 및 야외조사를 활용한 탐구를 강조하는 특징이 있다. 1단원을 통해 습득한 지리탐구를 바탕으로 일상생활 속 상품의 소비를 통해 자신과 다른 지역의 관계(2단원), 수도권 집중과 지방소멸의 맥락 속에서 서로 다른 지역들이 당면한 문제(3단원), 개발에 따른 국토환경의 변화와 자연재해(4단원), 한반도 및 주변지역에 대한 지정학적 이슈(5단원)를 각각 조사한다.
