This study analyzed the design and effects of teacher training programs utilizing specific geospatial technologies, including geospatial web services, open data, big data, and generative AI, focused on the high school course ‘Korean Geography - Inquiry Approaches.’ The program integrated these technologies to enhance teachers' abilities to design and implement inquiry-based lessons. It provided teachers with concrete instructional materials aligned with the national curriculum and emphasized a hands-on, inquiry-based training approach. Teachers participating in the program reported significant benefits such as acquiring diverse applicable data and technology knowledge, experiencing a shift in perception towards inquiry, and appreciating the hands-on format of the training. Moreover, some teachers demonstrated that applying the training content could transform teaching methods and student learning activities through the integration of inquiry and technology. This research outlines key design principles for technology-integrated inquiry-based teacher training, underscores the necessity for ongoing professional development, and advocates for classroom innovation through the adoption of geospatial technologies and the latest data-driven methods.
본 연구는 공간정보기술 및 최신 데이터와 테크놀로지를 활용한 교사연수 프로그램의 설계 및 실행 효과를 분석하였다. 고등학교 한국지리 탐구 과목을 중심으로 진행된 이 연수는 공간정보웹서비스, 공공데이터, 빅데이터, 생성형 인공지능 등 최신 기술을 통합하여 교사들의 탐구수업 설계 및 실행 능력을 향상시키는 것을 목표로 하였다. 연수 프로그램은 참여 교사들에게 교육과정과 연계하여 탐구식으로 개발된 구체적인 수업자료를 제공하고, 실습 중심의 방식으로 진행되었다. 연수 참여 교사들은 활용 가능한 다양한 데이터와 테크놀로지에 대한 지식, 탐구에 대한 인식의 전환, 구체적인 수업자료의 획득, 실습가능한 연수 형식을 연수의 장점으로 꼽았다. 일부 교사들은 연수의 내용을 적용해 봄으로써 탐구와 테크놀로지 통합을 통한 수업방식 및 학습자의 학습활동의 전환을 가져올 수 있다는 것을 증명했다. 본 연구는 탐구기반 테크놀로지 통합 교사연수의 설계 원칙을 제시하고, 교사들의 지속적인 전문성 개발의 필요성을 보여주었을 뿐 아니라 최신 데이터와 테크놀로지를 활용한 교수법의 변화를 통해 교실의 혁신을 가져올 수 있다는 것을 시사한다.
